Pusha T Speaks On Versatility And More In Studio Session With Bangladesh

G.O.O.D. Music's Pusha T says his sound is 'universal,' reveals that he's gotten over the stresses of the music industry.

In a studio session videotaped for Bangladesh TV, G.O.O.D. Music’s Pusha T spoke on both the versatility of his music and overcoming the stresses of the music industry.

“Let people know we are versatile. We can work with different people and different producers, different sounds. Our sound is universal,” Pusha T explained. “So the anxiety part of it man I think we done been through damn near everything wrong in the music industry. Don’t nothing scare me about this shit. Nothing. It’s just what we gotta do. It’s the work, it’s the business, and it’s the passion.”

While the videotaped studio session did not feature any new music from Bangladesh or Pusha T, Pusha T did reveal that he’s pretty confident in Bangladesh’s sound.

“Bang do his thing, period. And I just recognize it man. I recognize and I recognize the sounds. So I sorta got a idea what I want coming in to the scene,” said Pusha T.

Bangladesh has been working with Pusha T since late last year for the rappers debut solo album.

“Pusha T? Shit. That real dopeboy shit. Nigga like started that shit,” Bangladesh explained. “Like lyrical dopeboy shit you know what I’m saying.”

Florida jury has found Grammy-winning reggae singer Buju Banton guilty on cocaine conspiracy charges.

Jurors returned their verdict on Tuesday after deliberating for 11 hours over two days.

The 37-year-old Banton, whose given name is Mark Myrie, was on trial on accusations that he conspired with two other men in setting up a drug deal in December of 2009. His album "Before the Dawn" won a Grammy last week for best reggae album.

This is Banton's second trial. A jury deadlocked in his first trial last year.

Foxy Brown Kicked Out Of Fashion Week Event


Foxy Brown reportedly escorted out of fashion week event, the Brooklyn rapper says it was all a 'complete fabrication.'
For the past few months rapper Foxy Brown has managed to keep her name out of the spotlight for all the wrong reasons, but that came to an end last week when the New York City rapper reportedly had to be escorted out of a fashion week event.
TMZ reports that Foxy Brown showed up intoxicated and extremely late for an after party for fashion designer Indashio at Manhattan’s Red Bull Space. Foxy was scheduled to perform at the party but showed up only minutes before the event ended.
On top of showing up late and intoxicated she then went on to lock herself in one of the venue’s bathrooms. Security was then called and Foxy Brown had to be escorted out of the building.
Since the event, which took place last Wednesday (February 16), both Indashio and Foxy Brown have spoken out on the incident.
“The story is a complete fabrication. When I got to the club I was not intoxicated at all. That’s a lie,” Foxy Brown explained to RadarOnline.com. “There was no intoxication, there was no drama, and I was never physically escorted out by security. And people were coming in and out of the bathroom.”
On the other hand fashion designer Indashio seemed unbothered by the reported incident at his after party.
“I was so happy to see her,” said Indashio. “When Foxy came at the end, it was the perfect way to close the night. It was the best after-party I ever had.”

How the Tupac Shakur Biopic Came Back to Life

For two years, it seemed the biopic of the slain rapper Tupac Shakur had met a similar untimely death. Long in development at production outfit Morgan Creek, the company thought it had struck a deal with Afeni Shakur-Davis, Tupac's mother, whose Amaru Entertainment was demanding broad creative approval before handing over the necessary life and music rights.
But in February 2009, Morgan Creek abruptly sued Amaru, claiming Shakur-Davis had closed a deal but "instead attempted to use the contract as a floor to pursue further negotiations."
Amaru quickly hired Hollywood litigator Skip Miller and countersued, arguing that there was no legally binding agreement and that Morgan Creek and its topper, James Robinson, were interfering with Shakur-Davis' negotiations with other studios, including Fox and Paramount, to make the movie. The project then entered litigation purgatory: Depositions were taken, lengthy motions were filed, and hundreds of thousands were spent preparing for a scheduled Feb. 15 trial to determine whether Morgan Creek had the right to make the movie.
Behind the scenes, lawyers for both sides were trying to convince Shakur-Davis -- known as being especially protective of her son's legacy -- that a settlement would benefit both sides. Morgan Creek, after all, was one of the few companies willing to make a deal, given her required creative input.
On the eve of the trial, cooler heads prevailed. Sources say Shakur-Davis sat down with director Antoine Fuqua (Training Day) and agreed with his vision of the film. A deal was soon negotiated that allows Morgan Creek to make the movie, with Shakur-Davis receiving an undisclosed flat fee, a chunk of the backend and an executive producer credit. The studio said Feb. 10 that the task of casting Shakur would begin immediately, with a shoot planned for late spring and Universal handling the film's release.
"This is certainly a better result for everyone involved," Miller says.

Updated Evidence Supports LAPD Cover Up In Notorious B.I.G. Murder



Hundreds of pages of recently unsealed documents link two former L.A.P.D. officers with the 1997 murder of Notorious B.I.G.
Recently unsealed evidence suggests the lead investigator in the 1997 murder of Christopher “Notorious B.I.G.” Wallace had ties to Death Row Records and was at the scene of the critically acclaimed rapper’s murder working security. The new evidence is the latest finding in the ongoing legal battle between the Wallace family and the Los Angeles Police Department.

“This potentially explosive evidence involves an alleged conversation between former LAPD officers Rafael Perez and Perez’s cellmate in the L.A. County jail,” reports California news station, KCAL9. “The federal judge in the case writes that the inmate reported that Perez had told him about his and [Officer David] Mack’s involvement with Death Row Records and their activities at the Petersen Automotive Museum the night of Biggie Smalls’ murder.”

Within a year of Wallace’s murder both Mack and Perez were fired and convicted of separate crimes including robbery. The new evidence is based on testimony from Perez’s cellmate claiming Perez and Mack not only had ties to Death Row Records, but that Perez was also working security at the Petersen Automotive Museum the night of Wallace’s murder. The unnamed cellmate mentions communication between Mack and Perez the night of Wallaces muder about the wherabouts of Wallace’s SUV, but the testimony reportedly stops short of directly implicating either man in his murder.

The Wallace family alleges this evidence was intentionally hidden by the LAPD because if Perez was working for the city the night of Wallace’s murder and can be tied to the shooting in any way, the city would be liable for millions of dollars.

Noted Green Bay Packers fan Lil Wayne celebrated his teams Super Bowl win with a cover of Wiz Khalifa's smash hit "Black & Yellow ." While Weezy basked in the victory, Pittsburgh native Wiz dealt with the loss of the favored Steelers.
"My reaction to Sunday is just like, we'll get 'em next time," Khalifa told MTV. "We've been to plenty of Super Bowls. It won't be the last one, and it was kind of a bummer just losing. But we had a great season and a lot of momentum just going into it, so I think that just had everybody boosted anyway. There was a lot of attention on Pittsburgh."
As Wiz prepares for his major label debut Rolling Papers in late March, the marijuana afficianado reacted to Wayne covering his double platinum single with his own "Green & Yellow "
"I actually thought it was real cool when he did his version," Wiz said. "Just seeing that he even heard the song, A, and then knew how to rap to it. Not saying that he wouldn't, but it was kind of wild, like, hearing Wayne flip how I rap, 'cause that's Lil Wayne. But it was cool."
